Chris Krycho was born on June 4, 1987, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He spent the next eighteen years of his life there with his loving parents and his two beautiful younger sisters, until leaving to study physics and music composition at the University of Oklahoma in Norman, Oklahoma in 2005. Chris was homeschooled for seven years before entering the public school system full time in 2000. The early years of his life remain extremely influential on his current life. He received a solid education in Christian worldview from his parents. In addition, his years spent learning at home solidified in him a desire to know and understand the world around him, which have fed his diverse interests in topics ranging from theoretical physics to theology, and from philosophy to political science. At the age of nine, Chris began taking piano lessons. He composed his first original work five years later. His talent for and love of composition continued to manifest themselves, to the extent that he eventually pursued further training in the field by studying music theory and composition at the University of Oklahoma in addition to his studies in undergraduate physics. He continues to study both physics and music, and intends to do so as long as he can. Chris' love of writing also manifested itself at a relatively young age. In eighth grade he had written a 30,000 word novel set in one of his favorite fictional universes - a novel that was promptly scrapped when he looked at it again the following year. Other works involve an unpublished novella, various poetry, and published Sunday School curricula. He began working as a freelance writer in August 2006, writing the middle school curricula for Cook Communications' Real Life Downloaded weekly supplements. He currently maintains two blogs that he started in 2005; and he generally writes on his primary blog at least five times a week with reflections on theological, political, and interpersonal topics as well as his own life in the context of his walk with God. He considers his highest calling to be making Jesus Christ's name known to the world. Every other concern is secondary to the glory of God. With that in mind, Chris does his best to ensure that all his work is edifying to others and reflects a Christian worldview. It should be noted that he has a great deal of difficulty writing biographies about himself in the third person, as he tends to find it more than slightly awkward. |
